TEETH WHITENING

What is

Teeth Whitening?

Teeth whitening is a professional dental treatment designed to lighten the natural color of your teeth by removing stains and discoloration. It works on both surface stains (caused by food, drinks, and smoking) and deeper discoloration within the enamel.

Unlike everyday whitening toothpastes or cosmetic products, professional whitening treatments are performed using clinically approved agents that penetrate the tooth structure and actively break down stain molecules. The result is a noticeably brighter smile that still looks natural and healthy.

Not all discoloration is the same, and understanding the cause helps determine the expected result.

External stains are typically caused by coffee, tea, red wine, and tobacco. These respond very well to whitening treatments and often show immediate improvement.

Internal discoloration can result from aging, medications, or trauma to the tooth. While these cases may require additional sessions or combined treatments, professional whitening can still significantly improve overall brightness.

During your consultation, we assess your teeth to determine the most effective approach for your specific case.

How Does the Whitening

Process Work?

Professional teeth whitening is based on the use of active ingredients such as hydrogen peroxide or carbamide peroxide. These agents release oxygen molecules that penetrate the enamel and dentin layers of the tooth.

Once inside the tooth, the oxygen breaks apart the chemical bonds of stain compounds. This process reduces their concentration, making the teeth appear lighter in color.

At Klinika Dentare Koral, the procedure is carefully controlled to ensure even whitening across all teeth. The gums and soft tissues are protected before the whitening agent is applied, and the treatment is monitored throughout to achieve consistent and safe results.

The whitening procedure is simple and usually completed in a single visit. After isolating and protecting the gums, the whitening gel is applied to the teeth and activated for a specific period of time.

Most patients experience little to no discomfort during the procedure. In some cases, temporary sensitivity may occur afterward, but it typically subsides within a short time.
